All done bar the shouting

So the Awards were judged yesterday. I have to say the panel of judges was fantastic - everyone made so much effort to get through all the work and give evey piece the attention it deserved. Judging takes hours before they meet (the first round) and then the whole day, from dawn to dusk!

Matthew Bath will be writing a report on the observations of the judges for Digital Arts and we’ll publish the same here. Safe to say, there was some outstanding work to recognise but we also have to address challenges - Accessibility seems to have been neglected (not on everything of course), there was a notable divide between the best and the rest and it’s clear that BIMA needs to support companies as they make submissions - some didn’t help the work itself (But as I said, the judges worked hard to ensure they got to grips with the briefs and the solutions to them).

What’s next? We get the kids to take a play with the Kids category work and then the Chair of the Awards, Russel Davies no less, works with the Awards Group and the judges feedback to select the Grand Prix.
